WEIGH-IN & CORNER GUIDE
Ready for fight day
FROM PFC.42 / OCTOBER 11, 2026
Medical checks are for professionals only.
Amateur fighters do not need to complete or submit a medical questionnaire and will not undergo an event medical check. Professional fighters must continue to submit the questionnaire and complete their medical check.
Weigh-in
Title fighters must attend the official in-person weigh-in specified by the organizer. Remote weigh-ins for title bouts were discontinued from PFC.41 on August 2, 2026.
- Day before the event
- 11:00 practice weigh-in; 12:00–14:00 official weigh-in.
- Venue
- POD ARENA · Terminal Building B2F, 4-2-1 Kita 23 Nishi, Kita-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido 001-0023, Japan. Directly connected to Kita-nijuyo-jo (Kita 24-jo) Station on the Namboku subway line.
Weigh-ins generally follow bout order, with professionals first. Fighters who miss weight on the first attempt must weigh again within one hour. The organizer may handle overweight cases until 15:00. Notify the organizer in advance if you will be late; fighters unable to attend within the designated period weigh in on event day.
Overweight penalties: less than 200 g, one point deducted; 200 g to less than 500 g, two points deducted; 500 g or more, disqualification. A bout may proceed only with the opponent’s agreement and the organizer’s decision on a catchweight, changed division or no-contest rule. For a same-day weight miss, only the no-contest arrangement applies: a win by the overweight fighter becomes a no contest, while a win by the fighter who made weight is recorded. If the opponent does not agree, the bout is cancelled.
Remote weigh-in: non-title bouts only
Eligible fighters travelling from outside Sapporo may request a remote weigh-in in advance through the entry form or the organizer’s LINE. This option is available only for approved day-before weigh-ins, not same-day weigh-ins.
- Use a live LINE video call with the organizer. Test video and audio beforehand; agree any alternative video service in advance.
- Use a functioning modern digital scale on a flat floor in an open area with nothing to hold onto.
- A coach, cornerman or helper must film from a short distance without touching the fighter.
- Be ready throughout the weigh-in period and remain reachable.
- Immediately after weighing, send one portrait and one landscape photo showing your full body on the scale.
- Professional fighters must collect the medical questionnaire at event-day reception and submit it to the medical staff. Amateurs do not need a questionnaire or medical check.

Professional fighters cannot compete without completing the medical check.
Amateur check-in checklist
Collect passes, settle any payments, locate your changing room, complete any required weigh-in and have your equipment checked. One corner pass is issued per gym. No medical questionnaire or event medical check is required.
Corner restrictions
- Wear nitrile gloves, mandatory from 2026. A pair is available at reception for ¥100 if needed.
- Before handing the fighter to the referee, remove non-fight clothing, fit the mouthguard, and finish encouragement and water.
- Move promptly to the corner area after handing over the fighter.
- Do not climb the cage or fence, stand during a bout, or touch the cage or other fight equipment.
- Keep instructions to the necessary minimum. Do not insult or provoke the opponent or others.
- Do not protest, instruct or comment to officials, except to signal retirement from the bout. Do not speak to the fighter during a time stoppage.
- Signal retirement by throwing a towel into the fighting area.
- Only one cornerman may enter the cage between rounds. Only water may be given to the fighter.
- Do not apply petroleum jelly, oil or other substances to the fighter. Do not drop water, ice or other objects in the fighting area, including between rounds.
- Leave promptly when “seconds out” is called. Do not directly protest to officials during or after a bout.
Breaches may result in suspension or exclusion from corner duties. The associated fighter may also face sanctions under the bout contract and event regulations.
Corner passes
Professionals: two passes per fighter. Amateurs: one pass per gym. Amateur teammates who are competing may take turns cornering each other without an additional pass.
Extra passes require advance organizer approval and the purchase of a spectator ticket. After their fighter’s bout, additional cornermen must leave the backstage and changing-room areas and watch from the spectator area.
Corner acknowledgment
Amateur rules emphasize safety through shorter bouts, restrictions on techniques such as elbows, earlier referee intervention, larger gloves and protective equipment where applicable. One pass per gym supports fair event operations and limited changing-room space. Rotating competing teammates and approved extra passes provide flexibility where operations allow.
